This is the first book I have read by Andy Andrews and really found it fascinating! It was an easy read , David Ponder takes us on a journey where we meet some amazing famous people from our History, I dont want to spoil it for those who have not read it as of yet. Davids life is about to change as he leads the conference that will ultimatly decide the fate of the world. What would you do if this was on your hands? Read The Final Summit to see what happens!

Anne Canadeo has done it again! Just finished reading A Stitch Before Dying, the 3rd book in the Black Sheep Knitting Mystery Series. What a great fun read. It kept you wanting to know what Maggie and the girls were going to get themselves into this time. Maggie gets invite to host a workshop at a Spa resort and of course she couldnt say no. So she gets her Girlfriends together for a weekend of relaxing and knitting, or so they thought. They never signed up for Murder, but that is exactly what they got. But are the police following the wrong lead and will the murderer strike again. Is the evidence in the fiber fun or lerking in the Shadows. Follow the girls on a knitting adventure that will really tie you in knots!

Well trying once again to revive my blog as I have been away for some time . So I am working on The January Sock of the Month sock which is Called Monkey Sock by Cookie A. And Also my Girlfriends and I are knitting the fabulous sweater Called the February Lady Sweater that we will be wearing to the Pittsburgh Knit and Crochet Fest in February. It has been fun and challenging and we arent doing to bad for our first time sweater,1 of my Girlfriends have made this sweater before but the rest of us thisis our first time. Am having a lot of fun with it.

Thanksgiving day will soon be upon us, and while we are busy preparing food and waiting for family and friends to arrive stop and think what is important to you, what are you thankful for? What matters most in your life? For me, I am thankful for my Fiancee, and for my wonderful bestest friends, you all know who you are, You have helped me through so much in my life, thank you for being there. Sometimes in this life things dont always go as we want them to but we can always be thankful for what matters most. So as the holiday comes closer and your house fills with family , friends and loved ones remember what truly makes you happy. Be thankful that you can get up each day and breath. Be thankful that you can do the things you enjoy, like knitting, crocheting and reading, well for me that is what I enjoy. Be thankful that you have someone who loves you more than you will ever know. Have a wonderful thanksgiving holiday!!!!!!!!

Yesterday was the first day of Spring and it was a beautiful day. My knitting sisters and I went to Edinboro Pa to knit with our friends there, it is always a great time, we went out to lunch at Perkins and then went to Campbell Pottery , what a beautiful place to visit. On the way home we stopped at Joann Fabrics. That was a fun time too. I always have fun with my sisters!!!!!!!!!!

Girl Time

I had a wonderful time with my friend Judy on Friday. I went to her home for knitting and girl time. We spent the whole day outside in the gorgeous weather knitting and talking and laughing. She is teaching me to knit toe up socks and it is fun so far. I am still doing a little and then taking out and starting over but I do like it. And we had the most yummy lunch. It was like a day at the spa only better. Thanks Judy for a fantabulous day.

the first one is UFO's - UnFinished Objects. (there are definatly some ufo's at my house)

and the second one I liked is the word "Tink" it is knit spelled backwards used to describe stitches that needed to be pulled out.

What is it about a room filled with knitters that makes you feel comfortable enough to be yourself , to open up with anything on your heart to talk about? We as knitters share a bond that tends to be unbreakable because we are not only knitters , we are friends. And how wonderful it is to be able to do that and not feel like people are looking down upon you. It is good to be who you are, where you are.

I am not sure why that was on my heart and why I posted it but I did and that is me. Its who I am .

The happy feet one is the second one, so I dont know if I still have SSS, maybe a touch of it but not that bad. So I am going to throw this out to you all and maybe there will be hope for me yet. I recently finished the sock called flat feet and have moved on to the second one. For the life of me I cant get it to start right. I have tried everything. I get the cast on going just fine and start the round. And when I think it is going good it is to loose and looks like a long piece of yarn that isnt to be there. This is probably not making any sense, but it is almost as if I am not making it tight up to the needles. If you have experinced that before. Maybe some one knows what I am rambling on about. If so Please give me suggestions to try to get this sock going.

We are home now from our trip to Pittsburgh PA. It was a really nice time for us , a good get away.It was also really great to meet the people that you email in person. I love the group they are all real sweet and fun. I got some reading done but unfortunatly no knitting, by the time I sat to relax I was to tired to do get my fingers moving..

I am working on my Pink Clouds socks, will post a picture of what i got done tomorrow. I also got some square double pointed needles in 7 inches that I really like.

It is a cloudy day here with rain on the way and what better thing to do than to sit and knit socks.

Yesterday was a lot of fun, Tom and I went to Waterford to Marg Butlers Country yarn and I got some more sock yarn. (Yes, I know..more? Some one told me that sock yarn doesnt count as stash.) And with all the fun colors, how could I resist. It was a fun day. But it didnt stop there because yesterday was also First Friday Happy Hour at the Purl and that was a blast as usual. My sock suitcase came in so I was very excited about that(and yes Tom was right I will have to get more of them) I got to knit with my friends and had a winecooler and some chocolate.

I think the best part of the day was that Tom was with me and we had an awesome time. (not to mention all the yummy sock yarn I got to. )

knitting at the dentist

So today I had a dental appointment and of course took my sock I am presently working on. I am at the heel turning. And had just started the next row thinking I had time that the dentist never takes me early. Well today would have to be the one time he does and I am only 12 stitches in to it. So as she calls my name I am quickly decideing what to do , I so wanted to finish this row, but knew I had to go back with her. So I quickly pushed the stitches to the middle of the needle and put it back in my bag and told Tom to not let anyone touch it or else. When I was done my bag was right where it was left and the stitches snug on my needle waiting patiently for them to be knit.

Besides having dental work done it was a good day.

I didnt think I would be writing about socks again. It was a long journey to make one and thought I would have SSS (Second sock syndrome) but amazingly I dont and am so loving making socks now, so much so that I have not got three socks on the needles. Yes you read that right THREE.... I am finishing up the second sock. And a friend told be to try the trekking sock yarn with color so off I wemt to the Purl to get some and find the most amazing blue. Tom will love them when they are done. And I have my flat feets going and the colors there are so AWESOME!!!!! Oh wait I have four on the needles as I am working on finishing my first tulip sock. Had trouble with the little chart but I got it.

It has been so much fun. I enjoy meeting with my friends and also being able to go to my LYS and shop, touch all the beautiful yarns and sit in the wonderful yarn room and knit with friend. They are the sweetest people there.

I am also working on dishcloths withthe Fixation yarn and it is great. Have to start knitting for christmas sometime right.

My LYS is so amazing. Every one there is so friendly and they dont mind if you go there and just hang out and knit. I went there today to finish my first sock. Yes I did it, do not adjust your vision. It is completed!!! WAHOOO!! I am excited. It looks really good forbeing my first one so I am proud of it. Thanks to friends at my LYS the sock journey has begun, it was a slow start but there is some releif and some happiness knowing that I have conquered my sock and am now looking forawrd to making many more pairs. I must admit that I was not ever going to make another one again, with all the hassle it had took my through, but now that I see how wonderful it is, I am so hooked.

So it was a good day. Got to spend some time alone with my honey and relax. What a great time.

I think that socks are definatly trying my patience and maybe even on purpose. LOL.. I have decided that I need to get smart and only commit my sock knitting to one pair at a time. I thought having two or more pairs stared would keep me from going nuts but apparently socks are a one pair deal. So I have stopped making all but one pair. And it is surprisingly going well. There may be hope at the end yet. They have definatly worked on me and now I am hoping they will grow on me and I will begin to love to make them. Right now there is some love there but not quite enough yet.

So I will keep you posted on how I am progressing in the sock journey, for me it has been a bumpy one but I am looking forward to smooth travels that I know are awaitng me on this journey. And besides what better way to learn then to "rip it, rip it"

Well with much thinking and a lot of frogging( and yes that is on the first couple rounds) I have decided to place my toe ups on hold till I make Toms first pair of socks. Not toe ups. I want them to be the best so I will concentrate on them for now.

This however is not defeat because I shall return to them(just not too soon so I dont pull all my hair out).Although with the summer heat coming maybe that would not be such a bad idea.

Toe up socks

Well today I decided that I want three sets of socks on the needles(never claimed to be sane) I have casted on for my very first toe up socks. I will soon see if it will be an easy journey for me or one that has me pulling out my hair. They look easy so here goes....

I will let you know how it is going hopefully daily.

Well today, among the house work and the yardwork. I am starting to work on my Tiptoe through the Tulips socks. I am looking forward to seeing how this sock will progress.

So now I have to sets of socks on the needles (is this normal or have I finally went loopy..lol) Well I am loving the fact that no matter how many times I have to frog something, I will get to the finished product and it will be totally worth it. Besides that I have to learn sometime and this is definatly the way to do it.

Now I got my coffee and my socks ready to sit down for a lunch break before I continue cleaning. However now that I am comfortable I am not sure if the house work will be accomplished. I wonder if I can learn to knit and clean at the same time. ( some how somewhere I think that may have already been accomplished.

sock troubles

Ok so my first sock has been on rollercoaster ride after the other and has now been frogged again. How many times has it been frogged you ask? I cant even begin to remember. This time it was apparently a lack of thinking or just not knowing. Or maybe both. Anyway, I got the Wool of the andes yarn from knitpicks, love the yarn and thought 2 skeins would make 2 socks so I would have a pair. Well if I were making them short socks or for a child that would be alright but for an adult... Not so much. So I am now back at the original color and skein I started with. I guess being new you learn as you go. Or you have really great friends who dont mind you begging for there help.(yet again)

I did take a sock class that was very helpful. So I am using what I know from there and in the end it is going to be one heck of a sock.

I will continue to post as my progress continues. However at the moment I do not own a camera( I know catch up will ya) so there wont be anything posted here as far as pictures( unless by some miracle I can find a disposable camera) lol .. I know what you all are thinking...
